The Museum of Furuta Oribe is a new establishment opened to public in April 2014 in mountain villa Taiko Sanso situated in north-western Kyoto area.
The museum's collection includes various traditional craft items that relate to the famous tea master Furuta Oribe (1544-1615) and his circle.
The collection is shown to public during thematic exhibitions. I visited the museum during the exhibition on the utensils used in Japanese tea ceremony.
This warrior's helmet is not a tea utensil, but somehow it has a right to be exposed too^^ :
The museum is maybe a little bit difficult to access, but it's surrounded by maple trees, so it definitely worth visiting in autumn.
