Last Saturday, I participated in Kyoto Tasting Tour. It was fun!
We started with the original yatsuhashi shop (Shogoin Yatsuhashi). Those who have visited Kyoto may already know the soft triangular variety of these famous Kyoto sweets. Tour participants can try up to 8-10 different flavours of them:
It was the first time for me to taste the baked senbei variety of yatsuhashi. Not bad! ^-^
After eating some sweets with Japanese green tea, we went to the yuba shop. I became a huge fan of yuba recently, so I'm thinking about writing a post about this excellent ingredient.
The third visited shop was Mori Tsukemono, where we had a chance to crunch 5 kinds of Japanese pickled vegetables. In fact, the Japanese are quite fond of them and eat them with almost every meal. Me too, I always have some pickles at home ^-^
Did you ever eat a sandwich with a tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) before? So tasty!
Our tour's last visited shop was Yagi Konbu, well stocked with dried kelp.
