Recently, I've heard a lot about Kyoto Design House, art & crafts store situated in central Kyoto area, so I checked it out.
The shop boasts to have about 1300 items available, for example leather accessories:

All the products exposed here were made by the craftsmen (from Kyoto and all over Japan), using traditional materials and techniques.
